Gümbet Limani
37°02'3N, 27°24'E
This lies on the Eastern side of Bitez and just in the West of Bodrum Limani. Anchoring is possible in 5-10 m at the end of the bay. It is a good shelter from the meltem winds.
There is a .small hill which looks like a belt between Bodrum and Giimbet with six windmills on top of it. Since there is a lot of wind in Giimbet, people often windsurf here.
Giimbet means 'cistern'. Throughout history, there has always been water shortage on Bodrum Yanmadasi which is why many cisterns are found there.
The grave of Halikarna.s Bahkcisi (Cevat §akir Kabagacli), the well-known poet and writer who introduced Bodrum and the Blue Voyage to the world, is also here in Giimbet.
