Çatalada

Çatalada 37°00'4N, 27°11'7E

After Akyarlar, we head to the North, and we come to the West coast of Bodrum Yanmadasi. This is the Westernmost point of the Mediterranean coast in Turkey. The most important bays on this coast are Turgutreis, Kadikalesi, Gumiisluk, and Yahkavak. Qatalada is in the West of Turgutreis. It is 13/4 nautical miles off the coast and is made up of three hills. The two hills in the South are connected by a narrow isthmus. There is a lighthouse in the Northeast of the island. It is possible to anchor in 4-6 m. The bottom is sandy. There may be gusts of wind from the Meltem
