Cökertme

Cökertme
(Feslegen Koyu)
37°00'5N, 27°47'5E
This is a large and beautiful bay on the North coast of Gokova Korfezi. between Kepce Burnu and Karaburun. There is a village named C^okertme here from which the bay takes its name. C^okertme is a beautiful bay that is well-known and preferred by yachtsmen. The most famous person of C^okertme became so popular as she was a close friend of Halikarnas Bahkcisi. The grandson of (Jakir Ays.e, who is called "Kaptan" (captain) started running a small cafe in (^okertme. This cafe mainly serves yachts.

cokertme provides good shelter from winds blowing from the West towards the North and the East. It has a long shore with island pine and olive trees on it. Water needs can be met from a domed cistern.
It is very difficult to see the entrance of the bay from a distance. It is essential to keep away from Karaburun while entering the bay as there are rocky parts on the Southwestern side. The best place to anchor is the Northern coast of the cove in the West. Anchoring is possible in 5-6 m here, with a line ashore. As an alternative, the Western part of the cove in the North can also be used. The bottom is mud, sand and weed. It is possible to anchor here in 6-8 m.Qokertme, welcoming hundreds of tourists every day, is mentioned in many folk songs
