Yalikavak

Yalikavak
37°06'5N, 27°15'5E
This is one of the largest and most beautiful bays of Bodrum Yanmadasi. Yalikavak is 18 km from Bodrum. There are citrus tree gardens all around it.
As it is protected from all winds except for Westerlies and North westerlies, it is a safe anchorage point. Anchoring is possible either in any suitable place inside the bay or in the marina. However, you should be careful about the reef on the Southern part of the bay which extends in a Nortwest direction.
Yalikavak settlement and the shelter lie in the Southeast of Yalikavak Limani. The shelter is surrounded by a breakwater.
New holiday villages and houses have been built, and new restaurants have been opened recently in Yalikavak. In the Northeast of the bay, there are yacht repair facilities and a dockyard. The entrance of the harbour is a good shelter from the meltem.
Some of the windmills, which became the symbol of Yalikavak, are still in good condition.
