Gumu§luk is a bay on the Western part of Bodrum Yanmadasi and is surrounded by Donmez Burnu and Karabakla Burnu. Kiiguk Tav§an Adasi is at the entrance of the bay. It is possible to reach the island from Gumii§luk by walking through the sea. When entering the bay, care is needed of the ancient breakwater extending 35 m long in the Southwest direction. It is

protected from all winds except for the North westerlies. Anchoring is possible either in 5-7 m off the village or in 8-10 m on the Northern part of the bay. As the bottom is mud and weed, it is a good holding. There are several fish restaurants around the harbour.
Gumu§luk is one of the oldest settlements of Bodrum. The ruins of the ancient city of Myndos, established by the Caria Mayor Mausolos, are also in Gumusjuk village. That's why this place was accepted as a site area, and construction is strictly forbidden. Besides, there is also a belief that when the local wine of Gumu§luk is mixed with sea water, it can cure any ailment.
