Datca Limani lies on the Southern part of Dat^a Yanmadasi and in the North of inceburun lighthouse. It is exposed to Easterlies and Southeasterlies and is affected from the meltem winds. When approaching from the South, Uzuncaada lighthouse can easily be seen. There is shelter on the Southern part of the cape extending towards the East.
Anchoring is possible in 6-8 m in the Southwest of the entrance, in 4 m inside the harbour or in front of the breakwater.


The harbour gets crowded in summer It is also possible to reach Marmaris and Mugla by road from here.
The history of Datca dates back to five thousand years ago. At first it was in the boundaries of the Carian Empire. later, the Dor, Persian, Roman and Ottoman empires sealed there.
The famous historian, Strabon's saying about Datca has already been proved by the recent increase in the number of people wanting to live there. Datca is very beautiful even in winter with its green valleys and beautiful flowers. Every season has a different beauty in Datca.
Datca is also quite rich in its plant cover. Especially the mountains and the high regions are covered with forests. It is possible to see any type of flower, plant and tree growing there in the Mediterranean climate. It is particularly famous for its almonds.
Datca is the last big town to provide yachts going to Marmaris with their basic needs. That's why yachts often visit there. It is also important as it is very close to the ancient city of Knidos.
Moreover, Datca is one of the foremost places for sea sports. The wind in summer provides ideal conditions for surf lovels.
The houses in Datca with flat roofs, high ceilings and white paint, are quite attractive. Mehmet Ali Konagi is one of the most interesting houses in its architectural design and ornamentation. The pictures on the walls of the houses are very important in Turkish picture art.
