This i.s a small village, situated in the hills to the East of the entrance of Uçağız Limanı. There is a castle at the top. From the castle, the sunken city (Simena) with its ruins in the sea can be observed.
Anchoring off -the village is only possible in calm weather. Although Kekova Adası proteets the bay from vvind and vvaves, the bottom gives bad holding, so it shoııld not be used. For approach, detailed maps should be examined.
Simena (Kale), situated in thepeninsula opposite Kekova Adası, is oneof the most mystical places in theregion, together with Uçağız andKekova. The harmony of the village,which was situated on the site of ancientsettlement, amidst
nature and historical ruins can be seen. Among the ruins, a Medieval castle, located on a hill, is silhouetted against Simena. A settlement taking the name "Kale" (castle) today is also related to this strueture. The necropolis to the Rast of the city, rock tombs and sareophagi in different parts of the village, stoa, cisterns, the bath dedicated to the Emperor Vespasianus, the quay ruins and old houses are other
places to be visited.
