The entrance of the harbour can be identified among the islets to the North when the main channel is taken from Kale Köy to the West. There is an islet at the entrance. Both sides of the islet can be used to sail into the harbour. Although the Eastern channel is wider, the depths of both are suitable for passage. The depths are about 9-10 m.
As the harbour gives good shelter, you can anchor in several places önce you are inside, but the most preferred place is the mud bottom off the village where you can anchor in 3-5 m.
in the East of the village there are several sarcophagi and rock tombs, belonging to the Lycian period. The ancient name of Uçağız is "Theimiussa", meaning "City of the Dead".There is a combination of historical ruins and village houses in Uçağız, which is an ancient Lycian city. Among the ruins onvievv, a small castle and the necropolis around it are quite attractive. Traces of the ancient city can also be observed under water.
